Submissions

1092 total submissions received

Thank you

Submissions have now closed. The Royal Commission has received a total of 1092 submissions, 990 of which were received before the close date of 3 February, or with an approved extension.

Submissions have continued to be received by the Commission beyond the closing date and approved extension date. Those received by 2 June 2023 will be included in the total list of submissions and considered for publication to the website.

Thank you to everyone who made a submission to the Royal Commission into the Robodebt Scheme. The experiences, insights and expertise shared through submissions by individuals and entities have assisted the Commission in having a more complete understanding of the impacts of Robodebt, as well as how such a scheme may be prevented from being introduced in the future.

The Royal Commission sincerely appreciates the time and effort dedicated by each individual or entity in making a submission.

A submission to the Commission may attract the protections of the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2013, depending on the circumstances. It is recommended that any person who seeks to obtain the protections of that Act obtain independent legal advice on that question.

Late submissions

The Commission will not reject submissions that arrive after the closing date of 3 February 2023. However, it should be noted that the Commission will have limited capacity to fully consider and use late submissions ahead of delivering its Report.

Publication of submissions

The intention of the Commission is to publish all public submissions that are relevant to the Commission’s Terms of Reference. Our Terms of Reference are included in the Letters Patent.

In determining whether to publish a submission, consideration will be given to the preferences conveyed when the submission was made, as well as the appropriate redaction of sensitive information.

It may be the case that some public submissions cannot be published for legal or technical reasons. Those reasons will be detailed when submissions are published.

Submissions will be progressively published to the Commission’s website and may also be included in the Commission’s Report.
